On November 6th 2006 the ERV – Europäische Reiseversicherung AG was presented with the 2006 "German Tourism Industry Innovation Award". At the award ceremony held during the 10th tourism summit of the Federal Association of the German Tourism Industry (Bundesverband der Deutschen Tourismuswirtschaft - BTW), Klaus Laepple (BTW-President) praised travel insurance for being an excellent "Made in Germany" product.
 
 
ERV chairman Wolfgang Diels who accepted the award on behalf of the company replied: "This is a further proof that our innovations have successfully gained the attention of the entire sector".

Today the ERV concentrates on examing future developments. According to Wolfgang Diels: "ERV more than almost any other company in the whole of the insurance sector is deeply affected by wars and acts of terrorism." But it is in just such cases that an international company with a reliable worldwide network of assistance is able to prove exactly what it can do not only for the people involved but also for the tourism industry as a whole.
